Meet Our Staff & Advisory Board:

MICHEALA AMIDON
Co-Founder

Micheala grew up in Massachusetts playing multiple sports. Coaching & playing soccer has always been an underlying theme to her career. Coaching was one of her first jobs in high school as a summer camp counselor for a soccer camp. She was a 4 year starter and captain at Elon University where she got her undergrad degree in exercise sports science. While at Elon she spent her summers as camp counselors at Elon, Davidson and UNCG. After college she worked as a certified Personal Trainer in Greensboro and started coaching rec soccer teams. Soon after the passion to continue to coach led her back to Elon as a graduate student and Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach and part time staff for the Elon Athletics Foundation. She also continued to play for the Lady Dynamo semi professional soccer team. Her passion for coaching young athletes continued as she coached local rec soccer teams and was a member of the ODP staff. After graduating with her MBA Micheala moved on to work as a Wellness Director at The Club Fitness, Sales and Marketing for the Dynamo while always keeping one foot in the coaching world as the assistant coach at Guilford and Greensboro College and coaching local club teams. Micheala then went on to work for Proehlific Park where she could continue her passion for sports and youth sports, but also use her business degree. With kids of her own now she started coaching all of their recreation teams and travel teams with NC Fusion. Micheala has been with Proehlific for 15 years, she is married to Peter and they have 3 children Anna, Kylie and Rayne. Micheala and Peter have a shared passion for coaching as he too has spent many hours coaching basketball and flag football. To be a mentor and educator and to share your love of a sport with kids is the greatest responsibility to watch that passion grow and drive them is the greatest reward.

Mike worked for many companies in the area as a CPA until settling into his current role as Park Director for Proehlific Park for the last 8 years.  Mike and Susie have two adult children, Katelyn and Mikey.  Mike’s passion for youth sports grew through coaching his children in the many sports they played throughout the years.  He coached at every level from recreation and travel soccer to high school football.  In addition to coaching, he served as President of GUSA (now Fusion). While a High School football coach at a local Title 1 school he was very aware of the every-day challenges that many families in our community face when it comes to playing sports.  As a lifelong participant and coach, seeing firsthand the power of sports and the impact it can have.  Mike’s passion is to provide opportunities for all children, through sports, to grow, learn and dream.
